A FAMILY UNDERWATER // UNDERWATER FAMILY PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

Meet the gorgeous NIcholson Family!!  They are a family of swimmers, surfers, outrigger canoe and stand-up paddlers... So it's only fitting that they wanted to do an underwater family portrait shoot!  My dear friends Lianne and Heather styled the shoot to give a fun vintage-y feel, and I must say they did a fab job.  We laughed constantly during the shoot, we had so much fun! Only one thing could have made this day better...  warmer water.  To say it was freezing would be an understatement...!  

Places I love... PARIS, FRANCE // TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER

A month after Paka and I were married (a mllion years ago!) we moved to Switzerland for two years.  While there we only crossed the border into France a few times.  Mainly to go to the dentist because it was a lot cheaper and once to the French Alps for some snowboarding... that was a BIG MISTAKE!  I had heard Paris was nice but we never made it there.  Well let me tell you it's more than nice, it's amazing!  It has now landed in my top 5 favorite cities.

When we arrived in Paris we met up with our dear friends Andy+Lianne and her lovely parents Roger+Anne to celebrate Lianne's second 30th birthday!  We roamed the city streets stopping often for delicious coffee and macaroons, and feasted on croque monsieurs when ever possible!  We only scratched the surface of the incredible art at the Louvre, and unfortunately didn't get to do too much shopping...  I guess that means we have to go back soon right?!  After an amazing few days in Paris we all made our way down to the quaint historical town of Beaune where we stayed at Anne+Roger's beautiful home. Those photos will be coming a little later!

What I've been up too...

I'm back from Europe and you are probably wondering where my travel photos are...! Don't worry, they are coming as soon as I have a minute to breath! I came home to the busiest photography month yet… Family portraits, engagement shoots and weddings, weddings, weddings… did I say weddings?!  I thought I'd share a couple of photos from a few shoots I've done this month so you can see what I've been up too and why I've been slacking on posts.

Good-bye November… Helloooo holiday parties, fancy dresses+sparkly shoes, twinkling Christmas trees, warm drinks and friends coming home.  Welcome December,  I'm sooo glad you are almost here!!

Bon Voyage // TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER

I am running out the door with Paka to catch a fight to Paris!!  We will be on holiday with friends for 3 weeks!  I'm so excited to bring my camera and take photos just for me... and I can't wait to share them with you when I get back!!  Here are a few photos at a French market from our last trip to New Zealand.  Au revoir!!

PUPPY LOVE // BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER

My puppy Maybe is the sweetest dog in the world, I love her so much!  I take her with me everywhere I go... shopping, working out... I even sneak her into the movie theater (shhh, that's our secret)!   Some of my friends tease me about how much I love her... rude right?! 

When Kim asked me about doing a family photo session of her and her doggie Lexie I was so excited! Someone else who loves their dog as much I do... I was in!!  We decided to do the shoot in Waimea and I'm so glad we did.  The weather was beautiful and Lexie was in doggie heaven smelling flowers and running around the hills of Waimea.  My friend Lianne (another puppy mommy) came and helped me out with the shoot.  She was the perfect dog wrangler and she did an amazing little jig that definitely got Lexie to smile!
